LLS - BTEC Sport

Training Leaders of the Future

As sport is so high on the National Agenda here in Qatar, Doha College want to be able to support the countries vision for participation and legacy which is why we’ve teamed up with LLS, the UK’s leading provider of sports industry qualifications.

Combining Sport with Science

Students who are passionate about exploring a career in the world of professional sport can now apply to join LLS’ BTEC Sport & Exercise Science programmes here at Doha College. Unlike A-Level PE, these courses are designed to enable males and females to apply what they’re learning in the classroom and put it into practice in real life settings.

Bringing Learning to Life

With two course options, males and females can select a Subsidiary Diploma (equal to 1 A-Level) alongside up to three other A-Levels or an Extended Diploma (equal to 3 A-Levels) as their core programme of study for 6th form.

LLS create a bespoke timetable for everyone which ensures learners are being given an opportunity to gain work experience in a setting which they hope to pursue a career in in the future. Each unit taught concludes with a classroom visit from a sports professional which has previously included a World Cup winning physiotherapist, an Olympic athlete and a Sports Media presenter, to name a few.

Standing Out from the Crowd

Popular unique aspects to the course include annual trips to Colombo in Sri Lanka and Madrid in Spain where students complete voluntary work experience with foreign children and engage with sports professionals in each respective country – both fantastic opportunities to add to university or job applications.

How to Apply

LLS deliver regular taster sessions which are open to all students in Qatar and the next available dates can be gained by emailing programme director, Marc Garnett: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

To secure a place to study with LLS, you will be required to follow the Doha College 6th form application process, however, entry requirements differ from A-Levels.
